Industrial Styled Wedding Shoot
This shoot was waaaaaay back in 2011, and was my first, with some of my very first cake designs. It remains my favourite, not really because of the cakes which are now really (really) dated in style and technique, but the superb photography by Jon at S6 Photography.
I’m not sure why my brain would choose a place like that for the backdrop for a wedding shoot, but I really do think the juxtaposition of the delicate wedding dresses, cakes and bouquets against the dirty temple to previous industry works to stunning effect. Old Sheffield industry meeting new.
In true guerrilla style we had to ‘sneak’ in (that was silly, don’t do it without permission… and safety first!) through a broken window as I remember.. The place was amazing if not a little grim due to years of neglect and more than a few pigeons, I was more than a little worried about the loaned items, in particular the stunning Jenny Packham dress!
We saw room after room of abandoned beauty. The light, colours and remnants of a long past industrial Sheffield made for such an atmospheric location, and you couldn’t help feel a little in awe but also a little sad.
I would definitely be up for this style of shoot again, taking a little more care as regards safety and doing it all above board of course.
I think you will agree, (aside from the dated cakes), the images are absolutely stunning….
I have to thank again the fab S6Photography Chloe Curry from The White Room Bridal (who I think have since closed), for the loan of the stunning Jenny Packham dress and the lovely Debbie Carlisle for the jewel bouquets. Thank you to Jennie Beard for your help if you somehow see this so many years on...
