Ordering Your Wedding Cake
How do we begin?
Please bear in mind your lead time for your order, especially so for larger cakes to ensure I can reserve the required time for your commission.
Initially I will need the date of your wedding, the location of the wedding venue and a rough idea of guests to confirm availability. Once I have this information I can then gauge the size of the cake required for the number of guests and advise, you are of course welcome to order larger than you need with the use of faux tiers.
Consultations are via email or telephone for convenience, where your vision and ideas can be explored, along with planning advice.
Perfecting your design
You can browse cake designs from the website, with tweaks if you have seen something you prefer. All cakes can be scaled up or down in size. I will not copy another designers work but sometimes images will help to give me an idea of style.
For a fully bespoke cake, your ideas are taken and I will create your commission from scratch - this is an ongoing process and we will work together until your vision has been realised.
Sketches will give you an idea of how the final cake will look and the placement of the decoration.
Confirming your wedding date
Once the size and design is agreed I will then quote for your cake. I will invoice for 50% deposit to reserve your date along with full terms and conditions.
I do not charge separately to reserve, all monies paid go towards the final cost of cake and delivery. I will hold your date for two weeks only from invoice issue - no dates are confirmed until the deposit is received.
Pricing Guide
Two tier cakes start from £650.
Three tier cakes start from £950.
Four tier cakes start from £1500.
Five tier and above from £2000
Starting prices cover fondant iced cakes with a moderate coverage of simple sugar flowers. All are exclusive of delivery - this is calculated upon the individual destination, distance, and for the time the process of delivery and set up will take.
These are luxury wedding cakes and the price reflects the time taken to hand make your cake and decoration, which alone can take many days or even weeks In general the more complicated or extensive the sugar work, the greater the cost. Find a blog post regarding pricing below.
Flavours and Samples
If you require samples I will deliver/courier 6 flavours of your choice for a cost of £50, inclusive of the delivery. We can taste at a meeting but these can be limited especially in peak months (see above).
It is fine to have a different flavour for each tier and vegan and gluten free options are available upon request. The flavours you will see in the menu below are some of my most popular, but I can make to any specification, so if you have a favourite, just let me know!.
I can advise on flavours and how each sits in the cake and with your wedding catering menu.
I hand make all of the cakes and fillings from scratch for each order. Some items are subject to some seasonal availability and I would always advise to choose seasonal flavours when they are at their very best, especially summer fruits.
I will enquire regarding any allergens or intolerances, and a full list of ingredients will be provided with the cake for the venue in case of any questions.
Finer Details
As above - a 50% deposit will confirm your date with the final balance being due 6 weeks before the event - we can arrange multiple payments if you wish, just advise so I can arrange invoicing.
I will ask for a contact at the venue or planners details so that I can liaise regarding delivery timings and any logistical issues. I can also liaise with other suppliers such as florist or caterer to ensure a smooth and organised set up.
Full information regarding changes, cancellations, insurance, instructions etc are all contained within the terms and conditions so please read carefully before moving forward.
No personal details are shared with any third party without permission or by request.
I will be on hand throughout the process and will update and catch up right up to the event.
